Marcelo Brodsky is an Argentine artist and human rights activist who works with images and documents of specific events to investigate broader social, political and historical issues. His understanding of image editing and the particular intervention to which he subjects them manages to change the viewer's perspective and thus reveal new levels of meaning.
In “1968 The Fire of Ideas,” Brodsky presents archival footage of student and worker demonstrations around the world, carefully annotated by hand to deconstruct what underlies the global social turbulence of the late 1960s.
