¡Estoy enamorada de la CDMX! Estoy aquí para visitar amigos y me encanta la energía creativa en el aire.
Tu base era Nueva York, y ahora estas literalmente de todas partes ¿Cómo pasó esto? ¿Te gusta?
New York siempre me ha hecho sentir como en casa pero después de diez incansables pero muy divertidos años, era tiempo para algo nuevo. Tengo la fortuna de viajar para mi trabajo y ahora estoy basada fuera de mi país, el Reino Unido.
Dado que viajas por todas partes, dinos: ¿cuáles son tus tres destinos playeros favoritos?
¡¡Difícil!! La Punta en Puerto Escondido, Mexico; Byron Bay en Australia; y un empate entre la Costa Amalfi y Sicilia en Italia.
Parece que lo has hecho todo. ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que hiciste algo por primera vez?
Dato divertido pero ¡acabo de aprender a manejar en diciembre pasado!
¿Qué ideas tienes acerca de la CDMX como destino turístico floreciente? ¿Somos el próximo Berlín?
Para mí la CDMX es como el hijo querido que tuvieron París y Nueva York, en la mejor versión. Me fascina la diversidad de la ciudad, su arquitectura, su comida.
Como viajera asidua, ¿cuál es tu aversión cuando vuelas?
Cuando mi compañero de asiento extiende sus codos sobre los descansabrazos (y suele ser el comportamiento de un hombre!)
Trabajaste en moda por un buen tiempo, y lo sigues haciendo a veces. ¿Cuál es tu parte favorita de la industria?
Me gusta el sentido de identidad propia que viene de las piezas y marcas que decides llevar. Me encanta apoyar a pequeñas marcas y diseñadores y no comprar más en tiendas de fast fashion.
Y... ¿qué es lo que más te disgusta de la industria de la moda?
La rotación de las tendencias, el desperdicio. Prefiero invertir en piezas clásicas que me durarán años.
Eres una de las personas más multi-talentosa que hemos conocido. ¿Cómo llegaste adonde estás hoy y cómo describirías tu "profesión"?
¡Jajaja eres muy amable! Mis padres son artistas y crecer en una casa creativa influenció mi decisión de estudiar arte. Viendo hacia atrás, siempre me ha interesado capturar un momento en el tiempo o expresar una idea -pero me tomó tiempo en optar por la fotografía como medio para ese fin. El mayor catalizador para regresar de nuevo a la cámara fue cuando perdí a mi hermano en el 2010. era un alma intensamente creativo y heredé sus cámaras. Ver a través del visor de su cámara me hizo sentir como si viera el mundo como él lo veía.

We’re so glad to catch up with you here in Mexico City! Tell us about your recent trips here, what brings you here?
I’m having a love affair with Mexico City right now! I’m here visiting friends and I love the creative energy in the air.
You used to be based in New York, and now you are literally everywhere. How’s that? Do you enjoy it?
New York will always feel like home but after ten relentless, but super fun years, it was time for something new. I’m fortunate to travel for my work and I’m now based out of my home country, the UK.
Given that you are all over the world, tell us: what are your 3 favorite beach destinations?
Tough call!La Punta, Puerto Escondido, Byron Bay Australia & a tie between Amalfi Coast and Sicily, Italy.
You seem to have done it all. When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Fun fact but I only just learned to drive this past December!
What are your thoughts on Mexico City as thriving tourist destination? Are we the new Berlin?
For me Mexico City is like Paris and New York had a love child in the best possible way. I love the diversity of the city, the architecture, the food.
As an avid traveler, what is your pet peeve when flying?
Seatmate elbow spreading (it’s usually guys, too!)
You worked in fashion for quite some time, and still do at times. What is your favorite part about the industry?
I like the sense of self identity that comes from the brands and pieces you choose to wear. I love to support small labels & designers and no longer shop fast fashion stores.
And... what is it that you dislike the most about the fashion industry?
The turnover in trends, the wastage. I’d rather invest in classic pieces that last for years.
You are one of the most multi-talented person we’ve ever met. How did you end where you are and how would you describe your “profession”?
Haha that’s very kind! My mum and dad are both artistic and growing up in a creative home influenced my decision to study the arts. Looking back, I’ve always been interested in capturing a moment in time or expressing an idea—but it would be a while before I’d pursue photography as a medium for that. The major catalyst for picking up the camera again was losing my brother in 2010. He was an intensely creative soul and I inherited his cameras. Looking through the viewfinder of his camera felt like I was seeing things the way he did.
